Super cute little enemies to lovers book。 Absolutely loved it, the perfect little hockey romance book。 I also loved that there was a little bit of mystery in it and the storyline just always made you second guess after you thought you knew it all。

I devoured this book! Read it in half a day and couldn’t put it down! I found your new hockey boyfriend, Owen! He’s is cocky, hot, complex and has touch her and die vibes! I loved this book so much! This is definitely one of the absolute best clean romances I’ve read! There were more than a few scenes that gave me the feels! I became immediately smitten with Owen and found Emily very easy to like。 Owen reeled me in with his sweet, protective nature, especially with Cyrus。 Even when he’s pushing some limits and being cocky, there’s something about him that just calls to me。 His time with Emily at Domaine Enchanteur sounded like a fantasy! I devoured this book in 5 hours(ish)。 It was such a quirky read for me。 The plot twists, the adventure, the character building for both main and side characters and the almost enemies to lovers, although he falls first and it’s frigging adorable! Alright, so let me tell you about "Head Over Skates" by Gigi Blume。 First off, it’s like the perfect rom-com on ice, with all the feels and some seriously hot chemistry between the characters。 The kissing scenes? Oh I loved this one! Such a fun enemies to lovers! Their back & forth was fantastic and his nickname for her?!? Loved it😻🫠。 Kitty cat when he was happy with her and Alley cat when he wasn’t, so perfect🙌🏻😹。 Loved Owen & Emily together and how they found each other。

Head Over Skates is a clean, enemies to more, romance with swoony kisses and great banter! This well written book is a quick read because the characters are so entertaining。 The book has dual points of view and Owen seems so different than what Emily has been told。 The banter and kissing between the two is off t he charts! They also band together to track down the missing championship trophy。 Set aside enough time before you begin to read because you will not wan to put this book down!

Gigi Blume is most notable for bringing us the “Backstage Romance” series or the “Precio Brothers” series, now she is bringing the heat in the form of a hockey mystery book, and it doesn’t disappoint (never doubted her for a minute)!  Hockey player, Zamboni driver, and a missing trophy…let’s throw in some heated tension between our protagonists and enjoy the ride! Emily, the Zamboni driver, maintains a low profile so she can write her secret hockey blog without having to look over her shoulder! This girl is all about her business, including her secret ice time before the players arrive!  However, when the player that who was mostly recently featured in her latest article, starts to potentially connect some of the dots that she’s behind the blog, he attempts to strike a deal with her!  Just when they are about to their truce, the unthinkable happens! Owen is the captain of the Titans, often the featured subject of ‘Blades After Dark’ blog, and bane of Emily’s existence!  Tired of being raked over the coals in yet another blog post, Owen is determined to figure out who’s behind it, and once he does – he is determined to settle the score!  He finds out Emily’s little secret and it isn’t what he would have ever expected!  Determined to have his reputation restored, he strikes a bargain with the her and they end up in the right place at the wrong time!  When something important goes missing and both protagonists are determined to find out who did it, even if it means working together in dark and close quarters – that’s when the sparks begin to fly! This book wasn’t like the other hockey romcoms that have been coming out lately- rather it had a suspenseful subplot!  The two protagonists had more depth than first appearances and it was fun getting to know them! I loved that their layers were many and their kisses were…well you will have to read about those for yourself!  This book shows strong loyalties, funny comedic moments, and TimBits (donut holes for those who don’t speak Tim Hortons)!  The supporting characters were varied and were great additional personalities to the story!  Don’t know if this will become a series, but it’s a solid standalone!  。。。more

I love this author and was really excited for this hockey romance but it ultimately fell flat for me。 I felt no connection to the characters。 They did have some chemistry but I struggled to see how they'd fallen for each other so fast。 Only thing that kept me going was needing to find out who stole the trophy from the team's premises。 Other readers might love it though。 This just wasn't for me。 Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 I love this author and was really excited for this hockey romance but it ultimately fell flat for me。 I felt no connection to the characters。 They did have some chemistry but I struggled to see how they'd fallen for each other so fast。 Only thing that kept me going was needing to find out who stole the trophy from the team's premises。 Other readers might love it though。 This just wasn't for me。 Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Although being someone who does enjoy the smut smut-- this was a nice change of pace for me。 It made me take a second to really appreciate a slow burn and the idea of a more realistic love story。 It took me a second to really relate to the characters but overall, I enjoyed their banter。 I would have liked to have seen more background details and more descriptive ways of setting the scene。 I’m a visual reader, so it was a bit hard at times to actually envision myself there with the characters。 I also would have loved to see the author dig more into the enemies to lovers trope。 It was set up but then kind of died down and was not really explained further。 Making it seem like they were enemies and then POOF lovers。 However, I did enjoy the plot twists and the investigation。 It kept me hooked and helped the story come along。I feel this may fall under YA-- which typically isn’t my go-to genre。 But overall, I enjoyed thisfast paced and lighthearted read。 I will definitely suggest it to anyone who is trying to get into romance reading! Gigi keep up the great work and I look forward to reading more of your work! 。。。more

I was lucky enough to receive this arc in exchange for an honest review。 This book was cute, and I really wanted to love it, unfortunately it fell a little flat for me。 I struggled with the random plot points that happen and then are never brought up again。 The pacing of it just seemed off to me。 I did enjoy Owen as a character, for the most part, especially his relationship with Cyrus。 Parts of the story seemed really immature so this book would also be good for younger romance readers。 While t I was lucky enough to receive this arc in exchange for an honest review。 This book was cute, and I really wanted to love it, unfortunately it fell a little flat for me。 I struggled with the random plot points that happen and then are never brought up again。 The pacing of it just seemed off to me。 I did enjoy Owen as a character, for the most part, especially his relationship with Cyrus。 Parts of the story seemed really immature so this book would also be good for younger romance readers。 While this book didn’t check all the boxes for me personally I look forward to reading more from this author。 。。。more

3 stars。 🏒 The vibes: - Enemies to lovers - Forced proximity - Pranks - Fake dating ⛸️ My thoughts: I think this one would be good for a teen reader who wants a cute romcom。 It had some cute moments between the main characters and it had a little whodunnit mystery of a stolen trophy。 Owen is a hockey player and Emily— the Zamboni driver at the rink- runs an anonymous hockey gossip blog。 There’s lots of sleuthing, skating, and angst。 It reminded me of a Disney channel movie from the early 2000s。 3 stars。 🏒 The vibes: - Enemies to lovers - Forced proximity - Pranks - Fake dating ⛸️ My thoughts: I think this one would be good for a teen reader who wants a cute romcom。 It had some cute moments between the main characters and it had a little whodunnit mystery of a stolen trophy。 Owen is a hockey player and Emily— the Zamboni driver at the rink- runs an anonymous hockey gossip blog。 There’s lots of sleuthing, skating, and angst。 It reminded me of a Disney channel movie from the early 2000s。 If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, I say give it a try。 ⛸️ My favorite moments were Emily and Owen on the ice together。 10/10 for that tension and playfulness。 I loved that so much。 The nickname kitten, cat, etc … it worked for me。 Do you even need to ask why??? I’m obsessed with cats。 Period。 End of story。 😂⛸️ I liked the way Emily supported Owen through his anxiety, and while I think maybe it was a tad toxic and I’m not sure what it says about me, I did like Owen’s possessiveness 😂😂😂。 While we know Owen and Emily had great physical attraction for a lot of the plot, I wanted a little bit more depth there and more of an emotional bond。 Overall, I think this was a cute read but I struggled a lot with grown adults characters who felt like highschool age in their maturity level as far as their behaviors and the way they communicated with others。 I have more explanation for the rating below - as noted- it will have spoilers。 ⛸️ While this isn’t an ARC for review, I did get this ebook early due to purchasing a cozy box from Gigi。 Such a fun idea and I’m thankful for the opportunity to support an indie author in this way。 Releases March 18, 2024。‼️ Things that pulled me out of the story and explain the rating in detail (SPOILERS WILL BE INCLUDED): ‼️ The young lingo- “as if” made me chuckle picturing a grown man saying this。 The sleuthing for a stolen trophy …。 The breaking and entering into offices and homes…。 And then the roundhouse kick。 The online gossip blog。 The friend and that entire strange situation- keeping it vague here on purpose。 The creepy neighbor。 Friends with benefits。 But not really。 The sex talk but refusing to clearly communicate。 。。。more
